About project

The Trust aims to help empower people in the Murewa District, Zimbabwe, and the region.

On the newly acquired piece of land, Mangwende Orphan Care Trust wants to develop a “smart space” for orphans in the form of an agroforestry training center. The center will promote the principles of regenerative farming, permaculture, agroecology and organic farming.

In 2020, the founder and his family established an urban tree nursery and planted more than 10 000 avocado seeds. In 2022, they already donated trees to schools, churches, and rural villages. But they aim for more…

Project objectives

The idea is to develop the space into a sustainable farming practice demonstration hub and create favorable conditions for the life and education of the local children — the future of the community.

Accomplishment

The project is at the stage of land preparation. 400 holes have been dug so far. About 400 cassava cuttings and 70 glyricedia are already planted. Several huts are already in place. All that is needed is public support, as the initiative is currently raising funds for its agroforestry project.
